VISA IN MISSION ABROAD
Russian entry visas are issued by the embassies/consulates of Russian Federation.
Business visas, student visas, visas for cultural, sport, scientific and other exchanges:
Single or double entry, maximum stay 90 days. For multiple entry visa valid maximum 12 months.
The following documents should be submited to the Russian Embassy or Consulate to obtain a Business Visa to enter Russia:
1. Your original passport with at least 2 blank visa-designated pages (passport must be valid for at least 6 months after intended departure date from Russia),
2. Two copies of Russian visa application form, completed and signed,
3. Two passport-size photos signed on the back,
4. For stay exceeding 3 months, or multi entry visa, a HIV test required,
5. Official invitation from an organization authorized to invite business visitors to Russia.
The Invitation to Russia must be from the Russian Foreign Ministry or its regional representatives; The Ministry of Interior or its local offices; or other authorized Russian Agencies. The letter must contain: official seal and legal address of the agency, signature and name of official authorized to invite foreigners to Russia. The Embassy reserves the right to request the original invitation.
Private visa:
The following documents should be submited to the Russian Embassy or Consulate to obtain a Private Visa (Homestay Visa) to enter Russia:
1. Your original passport with at least 2 blank visa-designated pages (passport must be valid for at least 6 months after intended departure date from Russia),
2. Two copies of Russian visa application form, completed and signed,
3. Two passport-size photos signed on the back,
4. Visa entitlement certificate (IZVESHENIYE) from the local OVIR(migration office) in Russia. Your host must obtain this certificate for you and send the original certificate to you. Your host will need to know:
Your Full Name;
Address;
Nationality;
Passport Number and Date of Birth;
Your Date of Arrival/Departure in Russia.
Tourist visa:
Only single entry visa, stay in Russia maximum 30 days.
The following documents should be submited to the Russian Embassy or Consulate to obtain a Tourist Visa to enter Russia:
1. Your original passport with at least 2 blank visa-designated pages (passport must be valid for at least 6 months after intended departure date from Russia),
2. Two copies of Russian visa application form, completed and signed,
3. Two passport-size photos signed on the back.
For Tour Group or Cruise Passenger: Letter from tour company or cruise line confirming itinerary and including a copy of the confirmation from authorized Russian travel company which shows the reference number and confirmation number for the visa.
For Individual Travel: Confirmation of hotel arrangements from authorized Russian travel company, or directly from the Russian hotel, showing reference number and confirmation number for the visa.
Transit visa:
The period of stay in Russia is limited for transit passengers to 3 days.
The following documents should be submited to the Russian Embassy or Consulate to obtain a Transit Visa to enter Russia:
1. Your original passport with at least 2 blank visa-designated pages (passport must be valid for at least 6 months after intended departure date from Russia),
2. Two copies of Russian visa application form, completed and signed,
3. Two passport-size photos signed on the back,
2. Visa to the country of destination, if required,
3. Tickets for the whole itinerary.
Citizens of the countries which are members to the Shengen agreement and citizens of Estonia, Czech Republic, Bulgaria and Israel should have a medical insurance, valid in Russia.
If an applicant is planning to stay in the Russian Federation for more than 3 month or if he/she applies for a multiple visa a certificate of HIV-infection test negative results should be submitted to the visa section alongside with their documents (the certificate is valid for 3 month from the day of test).
According to Russian law, your Russian visa must be registered within 72 hours upon your arrival (excluding weekends and official holidays). If you are staying at a hotel, the hotel will register your visa. If you are not staying at a hotel, and travel on a tourist visa, you will have to register your visa at the Passport and Visa Department of the local Police Precinct. If you have bisiness visa and not staying at a hotel, you will have to register your visa in centarl OVIR(migration office).
Border check point
