Visa can be obtain either on arrival in Nepal or from Nepalese Embassy or Consulate. One passport size photograph is required.
Types of tourist visa:
1. free visa for all tourist who visit Nepal only for 3 days,
2. free visa for tourist of SAARC countries(Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Pakistan and Sri Lanka), Japan and Peoples Republic of China,
3. visa fee for other countries:
single entry - 30USD for 60 days,
multiple entry - 80USD,
Any foreigner, who has lived in Nepal upto fifteen (15) days continuously, re-entering Nepal during the same visa year visa fee exempted. A tourist may stay in Nepal upto 150 days in a visa year (Jan-Dec).
Visa will be extended for 30 days upon payment of 30USD for a maximum period of 150 days in visa year(Jan-Dec).
Transit Visa
The visa, generally for a period of one week, shall be issued to any foreigner who has departed from the Kingdom of Nepal and whose entry has been rejected and who has been sent back by any country to Nepal or to any foreigner traveling in an aircraft having landed in Nepal casually due to any reason.
Fee for transit visa is 5USD.
